Van Cliburn International Piano Competition
Inaugurated in 1962, the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is held every four years in Fort Worth, Texas, hosted by the Van Cliburn Foundation. Since 1963, Junior League of Fort Worth volunteers have worked behind the scenes to help this musical event run smoothly. JLFW pays the salary for the volunteer coordinator and provides volunteers before and during the event. League members perform a wide range of tasks, including managing electrical and technical equipment; organizing packets of materials for contestants, jurors, host families, and the press; producing name tags and place cards; serving as ushers; and more.
