Art Docents

JLFW art docents volunteer at the Amon Carter Museum and the Fort Worth Art Museum, assisting the museums' education departments by giving tours of the collections and special exhibitions to school and adult visitors.

Breakthrough Fort Worth - Summer Learning

Breakthrough Fort Worth prepares youth with high academic potential to pursue their college goals. During the summer, volunteers participate in and/or execute programming in six different areas: Teacher Welcome, Clubs Fair, Club Presentation Days, Mock Fancy Meal, Summer Clubs, Breakthrough Champion’s Day, and the Closing Celebration Event. Service Mentors for Summer Clubs give a short presentation on community service, the history and impact of JLFW, and how community service aids in the college application process.

Camp Fire - I Can Do It, Too

Camp Fire - I Can Do It, Too provides children ages 6-12 with a six-session course in self-reliance, self-confidence, and independence; the course supplies the children with information and skills to cope with different and sometimes life-threatening situations, particularly in the absence of parental supervision. League members serve as instructors, steering committee members, and supply coordinators.

Child Study Center

The Child Study Center provides diagnostic and treatment services to children who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities. The Junior League of Fort Worth has supported the Center through an initial contribution to the building fund and continued fundraising. In addition, Junior League volunteers serve as teacher's aides to allow children to receive more individualized attention in the classroom.

Cristo Rey Fort Worth High School Corporate Work Study Program

Cristo Rey Fort Worth High School at Our Mother of Mercy is a learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service. Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum integrated with a relevant work-study experience, students graduate ready to succeed in college and in life. JLFW volunteers assist teachers and staff with scholastic projects, events, and work-study events throughout the year.
