John Peter Smith Hospital

John Peter Smith Hospital assists the Tarrant County Hospital District by providing supplemental services to aid staff, patients, families, and visitors in a healthcare delivery system.

Junior M.I.N.T.S.

JLFW supports and volunteers in local schools through the Junior M.I.N.T.S. Program. M.I.N.T.S. stands for Mentoring, Inspiring, Nurturing, Tutoring, and Supporting. Each year, JLFW members provide valuable support to dedicated teachers in the classroom, to students through mentoring, and to families by facilitating educational nights, as well as supplying much-needed supplies and uniforms.

Kids in the Kitchen

The Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen initiative provides lessons and demonstrations in the preparation of healthy meals and snacks in partnership with local organizations, chefs, and nutritionists. It is grounded in the belief that children and families empowered with the knowledge of how to feed and exercise their bodies will be less likely to become obese and subsequently suffer many associated health risks. This initiative and others like it are now active in 200 locations around the world.

Kids Who Care, Inc.

Kids Who Care, Inc. is a theater company that produces confident and creative children through musical education and performance. This organization provides the “Night of Giving” as a special evening for children and families who would not normally be exposed to musical theater. JLFW volunteers are given the opportunity to plan a reception, intermission program, backstage tour, and more.

Kinderfrogs School at Texas Christian University

Kinderfrogs is an early childhood education facility on the TCU campus serving young children with disabilities. This collaborative effort between parents, teachers, and administrators has one major goal: to make the lives of these children rich with possibility. JLFW volunteers serve as classroom assistants and provide an extra set of hands during various activities.

Lena Pope Home

Lena Pope Home - Special School Advocate

JLFW volunteers act as educational advocates for children staying at the Lena Pope Home, assuring an objective opinion and presenting all facts at school hearings. Educational advocates assist in the development of the child's individual educational plans, school admissions and dismissals, and disciplinary actions.
